I have only ever made music because I love making music not because I want to be famous. Perhaps this is why I don't have a Twitter name, a Facebook fan page, still only a couple hundred friends on Myspace (and an account since '07), and no other social networking applications at my frequent disposal. Sure I do the occasional promotion or branding fling but nothing planned, executed, studied, and then sustained. it doesn't take a genius to know this is why I am now making music for my friends and family's enjoyment. I realize now, it's not about becoming famous but about having a way to let everyone know you are making music and letting them decide whether or not you should continue making music or if you should at least stop letting people know you make music.  

So yes here I am making music because I love making good music and now trying with all my might to let the whole world know I am here. The project I am currently working on is very exciting. The title "Migration of the Souled Kind" is a play on the words soul and sold to reference the decsendents of stolen African slaves throughout the diaspora. The album is a conversation about the effects of slavery and offers solutions to problems whenever possible. Check out the track Forced Migration on Youtube. This is a crazy track, Zaquan produced it and did the cuts, its a real spiritual experience.

On Friday I have my first show of 2010 at Recoup Lounge 210 Rivington Street $10 for a return visit. Genesis Be is rockin right after me and we decided to donate all the funds to Haitian relief efforts in the wake of that terrible disaster. As of now we are doing a 50%/50% between Direct Relief International and Red Cross, but that may change because I have a former teacher current friend who says the situation is actually alot better than portrayed by the popular media but to complex for some of the larger Nonprofits to manage. She actually recommends Haitan American Alliance because of their unique ability to address the right needs in the appropriate manner. May there be many more shows to follow as long as our music is relevant and constuctive
